The total budget to deliver the Eureka! Mersey project is £11.75m.

Significant support has already been achieved for this project, with £3m secured from the Inspiring Science Fund funded by the Wellcome Trust and BEIS, and £1.368m secured from 3 major private Foundations and contributions from Wirral Council.

£6.642m, in the form of a grant from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund, will be confirmed on 26 July 2019.

This leaves a funding gap of £800k.

Eureka! will be working with a variety of industry partners and further trusts and foundations to secure this funding over the next 24 months.

  • Our vision:
To make the world a better place for everyone by inspiring children and young people to use their imaginations, ideas and voices to influence the future.
  • Our mission:
To engage children and young people in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) and to inspire them to pursue studies and careers in these areas.
  • Our aspiration:
To continuously co-create a completely new kind of place and space where children and young people want to engage in STEAM: a fresh and unique visitor attraction which brings together the playful child-centred approach of our current children’s museum with 21st century science and discovery centre innovation
